Italian publisher J-squad approached us to design the first edition of Jugular, a bi-annual editorial-style art book. Jugular positioned itself as the ‘slow-publishing’ antithesis to the monthly consumer publication you would find at the newsstand.
The first of a bi-annual editorial style art book to be sold at newsstands around the world focused on elevated imagery and provocative storylines. Each story was customized in design, with full-bleed spreads, special papers, die-cuts, inserts, transparencies and gatefolds.
Not only was this one-of-a kind publication highly collectible, it earned immediate praise in the publishing world and advertisers responded with enthusiasm for issue #2.
Published by Jugular Mag and founded by Lucia Braggion, photographer Max Zambelli and Diesel’s founding marketing director, Maurizio Marchiori.
